I would not recommend Local Splash to other small business owners. My experience with their service was extremely disappointing, and I had several issues with how they represented and managed my business online. They used photos that did not accurately represent the type of work my business performs. They also responded to customer reviews on my behalf, and some of their responses had little or nothing to do with what the customer actually wrote. These responses were being posted publicly under my business name, making my company look unprofessional. Another major issue was that they changed the phone number listed on my Google Business Profile without telling me they were going to do so. I did not expect a marketing company I hired to change such an important piece of my business contact information without clearly communicating that to me beforehand. Customers use that listing to contact my business, so this was especially concerning. The cancellation and billing experience made things even worse. When I called to cancel, I was told that I was locked into a contract. This contract was never verbally disclosed to me during the onboarding process. From my experience, the contract terms were presented in the fine print after they had already taken my initial payment. I also removed my card information from my account. Despite doing that and calling to cancel the service, my card information was apparently still retained because I was charged again afterward. As a small business owner, I hired Local Splash to professionally represent my company and help improve my online presence. Instead, I had to deal with incorrect photos, irrelevant responses to my customers’ reviews, my business phone number being changed without my knowledge, contract terms that I did not feel were clearly disclosed during onboarding, and another charge after I had requested cancellation and removed my payment information. I would not use Local Splash again. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend that any business owner considering their services carefully review every term before paying, ask exactly what access they will have to your Google Business Profile, confirm whether they will change your business contact information, and get the cancellation policy in writing.
