The company I work for hired Weldwood Marketing to create a whole new website for us. I was the point person on the project and worked closely with Jake and his team. They made the process really easy, and fun. The website is a relatively big one, compared to the last website we had, and there is a ton of information that needed to be added in. Even though they were not overly familiar with our industry, they tackled it like they were experts. When there were changes we wanted to make, Jake and team made them quickly, and if there were changes that didn't necessarily make sense to do, he would explain why he wouldn't recommend it instead of outright refusing. We never felt rushed, or like we were an annoyance, and always felt as though we were their only clients, even though we knew we weren't. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Jake and team, and I look forward to continuing to work with them in the future. 10 out 10 highly recommend!

As a business owner and local downtown lover, I’ve had the experience of working with Jake on a few things and just last week he donated his time and knowledge to helping our local business owners understand A.I. and what it can do for them as a business owner. Make their life more efficient and define results in their lives to create more time! This class was facilitated by the local Downtown Association but Jake took it and ran with it! Over an hour of deep knowledge that left a lot of the business owners excited to implement these things into their businesses whether in social media marketing, online SEO presence locally and certain target markets within a definitive radius. He shared A-LOT of knowledge with fellow community members and it felt like he helped bring forth a very large level of enthusiasm in our downtowns main storefronts! Thanks again Jake for taking the time to help out your community.
Great work, Weldwood Marketing! Weldwood Marketing successfully transferred everything over from our old marketing team. They worked together and got the job done smoothly. Big shoutout to Jake and the whole team — appreciate your dedication! Highly recommend.
If you're considering hiring Weldwood Marketing, please read this first. Everything below is our honest first-hand experience and our own opinion as one former client. Every fact is supported by our own account data, our signed contract, and documents in the public court record. We have been in experimental entertainment for 10+ years, running ads ourselves and working with several agencies along the way. This was our worst experience by far. ONBOARDING was the high point. Communication was upbeat, a 3x return on ad spend was promised, and Jake, the owner, was named as our point of contact for any issues. We started optimistic. WHAT WE EXPERIENCED OVER TWO MONTHS: • Cost per booking on one of our campaigns roughly DOUBLED versus what we had been doing ourselves. • On another product, hundreds of dollars in ad spend produced ZERO tracked conversions because conversion tracking on that product never functioned. • On one account, 43 consecutive days without a single optimization. • Ads ran on the broadest category keywords imaginable rather than the targeted keywords we provided at onboarding. • Two of our three products had no dedicated ad groups built at all. When we raised these issues and asked for a call with Jake — our promised point of contact — he was, in our experience, unreachable for weeks. The call that finally happened was with a different Weldwood representative, who in our view candidly characterized the first month's results as poor. Weldwood then proposed reverting our paid campaigns to the ones we had built ourselves before hiring them — which we read as an acknowledgment that their work had not added value. THE NEXT DAY, after we requested a simple deliverables status table tied to the contract, we received a termination email. A partial refund was issued for the remainder of the month; the rest, in our view for non-performing work, was not. Our refund request was answered through Weldwood's lawyer rather than through a real conversation. We pursued a card chargeback and recovered part — but not all — of what we paid. THE HOLIDAY COURT SERVICE: we were then sued in Oregon small claims. The envelope arrived around the holidays with a handwritten "Merry Christmas" from Jake, signed with a smiley face. Draw your own opinion. THE RULING — for fairness, this belongs here too. The Oregon court ruled in Weldwood's favor. As we understood the reasoning, marketing outcomes are inherently hard to evaluate, some work product existed in the accounts, so payment was owed regardless of how the work performed. We complied. We include this because the review should be honest end to end. The court compelled payment. It did not find that the work was worth it. WHAT YOU MIGHT BE SIGNING UP FOR: a confident onboarding, named contractual deliverables that — in our case — were not delivered as written, an owner who became unreachable when accountability was requested, cancellation without notice, legal correspondence in place of conversation, a holiday court envelope with a smiley face, and an Oregon small claims court that, even when work quality is in dispute, will likely require you to pay anyway. We rebuilt the marketing ourselves afterward — we have the experience. We wish we had not spend that time and efforts with Weldwood. One client's experience. Talk to other former clients before you hire. Go in with eyes open.
Jake and Weldwood don't just care about being an elite marketing agency, they also take real action to be positive catalysts in the local community. My favorite example: Jake volunteering to teach digital marketing skills to youth in the community, and inspiring them to embrace their creative capacity to boost local businesses they love.
