Why keyword lists still need a human pass

Every keyword export - from the planner, from a search terms report, from a scraper - arrives with junk in it: competitor brands, "free", "DIY", "jobs", cities you do not serve. Push that list into Google Ads as-is and the budget starts leaking into irrelevant clicks that never convert.

Automated stop-word filters only solve half of it - they do not know your business. The fastest workflow is a hybrid: scan the list with your eyes and mark the junk with clicks. That is exactly what the Quantum Keyword Cleaner does - you never type a negative keyword, you click it right inside the phrase.

How it works

  1. Paste your keyword list, one per line, and hit "Load into cleaning".
  2. Every word in the working area is clickable. Clicking a word turns it into a negative keyword and instantly highlights every phrase that contains it. Click again to undo.
  3. Need a negative phrase instead of a single word? Hold Ctrl (orCmd on Mac), click several words, then release the key - the whole phrase goes into the list.
  4. Press "Sieve marked" - every highlighted phrase leaves the working area for the "Sieved phrases" box, and what remains is what you keep in the campaign.
  5. Copy the results: the clean list into your campaign, the negatives into your account negative keyword list.

Matching rules

Words are compared whole and case-insensitively: the negative "free" marks "free", but not "freelance". A multi-word negative only fires on a consecutive run of words - the same idea as phrase match in Google Ads. The negative list on the right is fully editable by hand, and any edit re-computes the highlighting immediately.

Everything runs in your browser

No registration, no upload: your keywords never leave the page and nothing is stored. Close the tab and the data is gone.

FAQ

How many keywords can I load?

There is no hard cap. Lists up to a few thousand lines stay comfortable - beyond that the browser starts to struggle rendering every word as a clickable element.

Can I export to Excel?

The free version copies to the clipboard - paste it into a spreadsheet or straight into the Google Ads interface. File export, saved lists across sessions and AI cleaning live in the full Quantum module.

How is the "Keyword Cleaner" module in the Quantum app different?

The manual cleaning works much like this free tool, but additionally: pulling the search terms report straight from your Google Ads account, AI marking the junk based on your website content, a negative keyword library shared across projects, and pushing the finished negatives back into your campaigns in one click.
