Category Overview
The Burp Cloths category, identified by the numeric ID 5629, sits within the Baby & Toddler > Nursing & Feeding hierarchy. It is a specific classification designed for textile accessories used during infant feeding.
What Belongs Here
This category is intended for absorbent cloths designed specifically to protect clothing during infant burping. Examples found in the US market include muslin burp cloths, premium cotton burp cloths, and various patterned or solid-colored textile burp pads. These items are strictly functional fabric products used by caregivers after feeding sessions to catch spit-up or drool.
What Does Not Belong Here
Do not include products that fall into neighboring categories under Nursing & Feeding. Specifically, do not list the following items here:
- Bibs: Designed for covering the chest while eating, not for burping.
- Nursing Covers or Nursing Pads & Shields: These belong in their respective categories for breastfeeding support.
- Baby & Toddler Food: Consumables or storage solutions like Breast Milk Storage Containers must be categorized separately.
- Baby Bottles or Bottle Warmers & Sterilizers: Feeding hardware should not be categorized as a textile burp cloth.
Feed Implementation
To implement this in your feed, assign the value 5629 or Baby & Toddler > Nursing & Feeding > Burp Cloths to your google_product_category attribute. While this attribute is optional, providing the ID ensures Google applies the correct policies and attributes to your feed, as automatic assignment can be imprecise. Remember that product_type is a separate, free-form field for your internal organization.
