Work Lights Category Overview
The category Work Lights, identified by ID 5592, falls under Hardware > Tools > Work Lights in the Google product taxonomy. This category is designated for portable or stationary lighting solutions specifically designed to illuminate workspaces during repairs, construction, or maintenance tasks.
What Belongs in This Category
This category includes high-intensity lighting fixtures meant for professional or DIY work environments. Examples of products from the US market include:
- Cordless and rechargeable LED work lights
- Foldable or magnetic portable work lights
- Clamp-on lights and gooseneck work illumination tools
- Multi-function handheld work lights
- Stand-mounted construction site lights
What Does Not Belong Here
Do not categorize consumer-grade handheld flashlights or head-mounted lights here; those belong in Flashlights & Headlamps. Specialized lighting for specific non-work scenarios, such as decorative lamps or general household lighting, should also be excluded. Always verify that your product is built for industrial or mechanical task illumination rather than general purpose light. If the item is primarily a tool, such as a welding gun or a drill, please place it in the appropriate specific category like Welding Guns & Plasma Cutters or Drills.
Category Feed Implementation
To assign this category in your feed, use the numeric ID 5592 or the full path Hardware > Tools > Work Lights. While the attribute is optional, providing the ID ensures Google applies the correct expectations to your feed, as automatic categorization may incorrectly classify your specialized work lights under broader home or utility segments.
