Rug Pads Category Overview
The Rug Pads category is designated by ID 3307 within the Google product taxonomy. It is located at the third level of the tree, falling under the Home & Garden > Household Supplies parent category.
What Belongs in This Category
This category is specifically for underlays and protective layers designed to be placed beneath area rugs or carpets. Examples from the US market include non-skid rug pads, cushioned felt rug pads, dual-surface grip mats, and eco-friendly rug underlays. These products serve to prevent slippage, add comfort, and protect both the rug and the floor surface underneath.
What Does Not Belong Here
Do not include products that fall under neighbouring categories within the Household Supplies tree. Items such as furniture floor protectors, drawer and shelf liners, garage floor mats, or floor protection films and runners belong in their respective, dedicated categories. Furthermore, laundry supplies, garbage bags, or household cleaning supplies are strictly excluded from this category. Always check if your item is a general floor covering or a specialized utility product before assigning it to the Rug Pads category.
