Table Linens Category Overview
The Table Linens category, identified by ID 601, is a specific classification within the Google Product Taxonomy for textile items designed for dining surfaces. It sits under the Home & Garden > Linens & Bedding branch and is essential for merchants selling decorative and functional fabric covers for tables.
Products That Belong Here
This category encompasses items used primarily to dress or protect dining and accent tables. Based on examples from the US market, this includes various types of tablecloths, such as organic cotton designs, damask prints, linen weaves, and fitted styles. It also covers decorative runners, table skirts, and protective doilies or cloth napkins used during meals.
What Does Not Belong Here
Do not place products here that are intended for the bedroom or general bathroom use, as these belong in Bedding or Towels. Additionally, items like kitchen towels or oven mitts should be categorized under Kitchen Linens Sets. Ensure you are not placing items in this category if they are specifically intended for kitchen storage or utility rather than table surface decoration.
When to Choose a Subcategory
Always prioritize the most specific subcategory if your product fits one of the defined types: Placemats, Tablecloths, Cloth Napkins, Doilies, Table Skirts, or Table Runners.
Feed Implementation
Use either the numeric ID 601 or the full path Home & Garden > Linens & Bedding > Table Linens in your google_product_category attribute. While this attribute is optional, providing it manually prevents Google from miscategorizing your items and ensures that relevant feed performance metrics remain accurate across your inventory.
