Understanding the Plant & Herb Growing Kits Category
The Plant & Herb Growing Kits category is assigned the unique ID 505285 within the Google product taxonomy. It is classified under Home & Garden > Plants > Plant & Herb Growing Kits, serving as the most specific destination for all-in-one gardening systems for consumer use.
This category is intended for comprehensive bundles that provide everything needed to grow specific plant types. Examples of products from the US market include complete fresh tea grow kits, hydroponic tower growing systems, indoor herb garden starter kits, organic lavender replant kits, and compact tabletop garden jars. These products typically package seeds, growing medium, and containers as a single unit for a hobbyist experience.
Products that do not belong in this category include individual seeds, standalone aquatic plants, or live trees and flowers that are not part of a growth kit. These should be classified under the neighbouring categories: Seeds, Aquatic Plants, Trees, or Flowers. Similarly, if you are selling basic indoor or outdoor potted plants, those should be mapped to the Indoor & Outdoor Plants category rather than this specialized kit section.
There are no subcategories for this taxonomy level, meaning 505285 is the most specific designation available for your feed.
To classify items in your feed, use either the ID 505285 or the full path: Home & Garden > Plants > Plant & Herb Growing Kits. While the attribute is optional, explicit categorization prevents Google from misidentifying your items. Remember that product_type is for your internal use and does not replace the required google_product_category field.
