Should I use this category for a basket containing only one type of toy?

No, if the basket contains only one specific type of toy, it is often better to map it to the most relevant neighbouring category, such as Dolls, Playsets & Toy Figures or Play Vehicles, to ensure higher search relevance.

Does the google_product_category ID 499712 require extra attributes?

No, this category does not require specific attributes like size or gender that are typically reserved for apparel. Ensure you maintain accurate titles and descriptions to help your products show for the right search queries.

Toy Gift Baskets Category Details

The Toy Gift Baskets category, identified by the unique Google product category ID 499712, falls under the path Toys & Games > Toys > Toy Gift Baskets. This classification is designed for pre-curated sets of toys bundled together in a container or hamper, typically intended for gifting purposes.

What Belongs Here

Use this category for assembled gift sets that feature a variety of toy items. Based on samples from the US market, this includes products like curated mystery toy baskets, character-themed bundles containing plush toys or action figures, sensory-focused play hampers, and holiday-themed gift boxes filled with multiple toy vehicle or dinosaur-themed items. These products must be sold as a single unit.

What Does Not Belong Here

Do not use this category for individual toys or specific toy accessories sold separately. Items that belong in neighbouring categories should be mapped accordingly. For instance, single-item building sets belong in Building Toys, standalone dolls or action figures go into Dolls, Playsets & Toy Figures, and individual toy vehicles belong in Play Vehicles. Do not list items here if they are solely art supplies, which belong in Art & Drawing Toys, or purely educational kits, which belong in Educational Toys.

Feed Implementation

In your feed, use the attribute google_product_category. You may provide either the ID 499712 or the full path: Toys & Games > Toys > Toy Gift Baskets. Providing this category is optional but recommended to prevent Google from misclassifying your products automatically, as this category is the most specific level available in the current taxonomy.
